The following selection process is utilized for determining who will coach Recreational "A" teams in SAC HC:

Coaches MUST apply for a Recreational "A" team coaching position every year. (Application will be collected by the Age Group Coordinator no later than April 20th.)

Applications received by the Age Group Coordinators will be separated by age groups and provided to the Recreation Coordinator by April 30th. The Age Group Coordinator may sort the applications according to their preference.

The Recreation Coordinator will meet with Recreation Program Director -- to determine coaching assignments. (Age Group Coordinators are welcome to attend this meeting to offer their opinion on coaches.) The selection will be made using the following criteria:

• Age Group Coordinators input
• Coaching background
• Coach’s history of promoting players to play at the highest level
• Coaching education. (NOTE: Coaches must attend 80% of the coaching education provided by SAC HC to remain eligible for coaching an A-team. Attendance will be taken at every SAC HC educational course. New coaches to the club will be given a one-year grandfather time period to complete their educational commitment to the club.)
• Referee reports. (The Referee Coordinator will forward to the Recreational Coordinator, by April 15th, the names of any coaches, who have received poor ratings for sportsmanship).
• Conduct:. Any conduct issues raised by parents, SAC HC officials or others will be considered.

If a current assistant coach wishes to remain an assistant coach on an "A" team, he/she MUST attend 50% of the educational sessions conducted by SAC HC and be registered with SAC HC as an Assistant Coach. Head Coaches of "A" teams are responsible for assuring that their Assistant Coaches meet these criteria.

SAC HC will notified by email of any coach selected no later than May 5th.
